Dear Damian:

I am happy to report the 11 SystemOne recycling parts washer we received from SystemOne two years ago are doing a great job. My technicians and upper management are very excited about your equipment, and I'm very pleased to tell you why:

Our business is cars, not new technology. However, a machine that improves shop productivity is very valuable to us. My mechanics say they are spending less time cleaning parts and more quality time fixing cars. They report they are each saving at least 15 minutes daily by using clean mineral spirits to clean parts. With a labor rate of $67 per hour, SystemOne will give us a minimum productivity earnings of approximately $7,000 per machine per year.

Every one of my service technicians enjoys having clean mineral spirits everyday. Having good shop morale and keeping my technicians happy is a plus for me.

The elimination of hazardous waste by using your washer gives the owners a big sigh of relief . The small amount of non-hazardous residue remaining after a few weeks of cleaning parts is just simply disposed of with our other used oil. We have completely eliminated out solvent waste stream.

SystemOne does exactly what it is supposed to do; give us clean mineral spirits and Improve the work environment. The advantage of your cleaners is truly tremendous, and the units pay for themselves in just a few months. In my opinion, your product and your company have a great future.

Keep up the excellent work.

Sincerely,

Dan Englert

Dear Paul:

I wanted to thank you for affording me the opportunity to become intimately knowledgeable about your product line which, as you know, led to a complete due diligence effort on my part. After investigating other alternative parts washing equipment and receiving rave reviews on your SystemOne units from our department heads of New Technology, Maintenance and Environmental, Health and Welfare, respectively, I was anxious to analyze costs of our current antiquated equipment, project costs for the new SystemOne equipment based on our extensive and lengthy testing period and finally, tabulate the actual cost savings after a 6 month implementation period.

During October 1997, our Florida divisions that were free of existing contractual obligations made an initial order of 41 units. Upon expiration of these preexisting contracts, I expect additional orders to reach a total of 70 units. Based on the actual savings that have been achieved after these first 6 months, I am very proud and pleased to tell you that we have achieved an annualized savings of $6,108 per unit which will amount to $427,616 per year for the 70 units. This measure of savings includes both hard costs and productivity savings and assumes a five-year life. Any equipment that remains in use after 5 years will save an additional $1,637 per unit per year. Other cost savings not accounted for are the time avoidance associated with preparing waste manifests and potential liability for the storing and transportation of hazardous materials.

I have to admit that when your staff first approached me, I was reluctant to believe that such savings could be achieved. In fact, I did not even have parts washing equipment on my purchasing radar screen until 1999. I look forward to the continued rollout of your equipment into the remaining areas of our organization in need which I estimate to be between 1,250 and 1,500 units. The kind of savings exhibited to date dictates the need to accomplish this by the end of the current year

In closing, I would like to thank you for your persistence, as it has paid off in a very big way for my organization. Thank you

Sincerely,

Marc Weingel

Dear Damian:

Thank you for coming by last week and helping to expedite our order for new SystemOne parts washing machines. Our business has grown over the past two years, so the additional 17 machines are a welcome addition to our busy service and parts departments.

I wanted you to know that we are extremely pleased with the performance of the SystemOne parts washers you sold us over two years ago. They are holding up well and are doing exactly what you said they would do, deliver clean solvent every day. In fact, we marvel at how good a job they are doing when you consider the tough environment they are in. We are expecting at least another three years usage out of them. I must tell you that another important thing about SystemOne is that we have not had to deal with waste solvent manifests for over two years.

It is pretty clear to me that SystemOne is as good an investment today as it was two years ago.

Best regards,

Glenn Whitman

SUBJECT: SystemOne Units

Dear Jon:

I am happy to report that the SystemOne units now installed at all nine (9) of our Detroit Diesel branches here in Florida are doing a great job. They are everything they were represented to be, and more. Our technicians save time by having clean fluid to use all of the time. Our cleaning quality has been improved. Our repair quality also increases with cleaner internal parts for assembly.

Our waste stream has been reduced to non-hazardous for this cleaning solvent system and the waste residue is nothing more than used oil. We no longer deal with second party vendors for waste transfer or the documentation of who, what, when, and why.

As a Penske owned subsidiary, EPA compliance and state of the art technology is of Key importance in today's business. We believe this to be one of the best investments we have made in our service program in many years. It is definitely a "World Class" product.

Sincerely,

Gary St. John

Attn: Mr. Howard Buswell Jr.
Area Sales Manager

Dear Howard:

Thank you for introducing me to your SystemOne Recycling Parts Washer. During this last month I have had the opportunity to test and evaluate eight different parts washers using a soap and water base or enzyme cleaner. As we all know soap and water is for good for washing hands, not dirty oily parts; might do a good job in a bicycle shop.

The superior cleaning of your SystemOne machine and the ability to minimize our hazardous waste, makes your system the "Ferrari" of all the systems I have tested. My employees spend less time cleaning parts, while providing cleaner parts than we had using our old solvent; this way we have clean solvent EVERY DAY.

Thanks for introducing me to an excellent piece of equipment that will truly benefit my business.

Sincerely,

P.S. I love your warranty program; the best I have ever seen in this industry

Dear Keith:

I am writing to let you know how happy we are with SystemOne parts washer that we purchased. At first, we were skeptical, but with the rigorous (actually, abusive) testing that we have done, I am convinced that this machine will provide the EVA positive value that we projected when justifying its purchase.

We tried to make this machine fail with all of the coal dust, dirt, grease and oil that we introduced to it. The machine keeps working the way you said it would and provides us with clean solvent when we want it. Clean solvent makes our people more efficient. In fact, clean 143 solvent cleans better and than even slightly dirty 105 solvent and it doesn't leave a tramp oil firm.

Recently, we had a visit from the EPA and I immediately showed them the SystemOne machine and how it eliminated a hazardous waste stream. It certainly made it easy to discuss my source reduction strategy. I look forward to replacing all of our general parts washers to SystemOne washers when our existing parts washer service contract is up. I thank you for your help and follow-up. As I told you before, the SystemOne units are going to be an integral part of my personal goal of having my facilities reclassified as "conditionally exempt small quantity generators".

Thanks again.

Dear Mr. De Armas:

Congratulations on two counts. The first is for your outstanding representative, Mr. Frank Tester. He has provided superlative support from day one. The second count is your product. We have been using the SystemOne parts washer for over a year Based on our research, the new recycling parts washer has saved us time and money. The washers have had zero down time, winning the appreciation of all the technicians. Our Service Department has voted to remove the other cleaning units and replace them with SystemOne washers.

Please extend our appreciation to Mr. Tester for his personalized service to our company. I would be glad to provide testimonials on behalf of your equipment and service. We look forward to a continued relation in the new century.

Sincerely,

Dear Matt,

Thanks for all your help in installing a new parts washing system in our dealership's service department. The Model 500 tanks we have chosen are by far a superior parts washer over our existing system. The size of the washing area and the quick drying no residue features of the solvent along with the clean on demand solvent is especially a time saver on transmission parts cleaning.

The money saved in not having to pay recovery services will pay for the new machines in no time. I would definitely recommend this system to anyone looking for alternative parts cleaning systems.

Sincerely,

RE: SYSTEM ONE

Dear Matt:

I want to thank you for having provided King Motor Coach with a truly "great" parts washing system. After having spoken with various other manufacturers, I found your presentation and product knowledge to be the most impressive! These factors where instrumental in making my decision.

I am currently Vice President of Operations at Werner Bus Lines, In corporated, in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Due to the past experience and satisfaction with your product, we have introduced System One to Werner's Maintenance Department. Once again, we are very please with its performance.

Very truly yours,

Dear Ralph;

On behalf of our service department allow me to tell you how pleased we are with the SYSTEMOne recycling parts washers we are leasing from you.

Previous to our lease with you we had tested several other models through other companies. In the end it was obvious that the combination of the quality machine and service provided by SYSTEMOne was the clear choice for us. The recycling parts washers is providing our mechanics with clean mineral spirits to work with everyday, which they have noted saves them time and increase their productivity. Couple this with the fact that we have also been able to reduce the number of washers needed at our facility due to the outstanding job that they provide.

Another area where SYSTEMOne benefits our operations is the elimination of waste steam. SYSTEMOne solves a major problem because it eliminates the hazardous waste solvent associated with parts washers. Since you recycle the mineral spirits on-site and the residue in non-hazardous, the liabilities associated with hazardous waste are eliminated.

Ralph, I truly believe your equipment as well as your company has a tremendous future within the automotive and heavy equipment industries.

Please do not hesitate to call on me as a reference.

Respectfully,

Rich Whiteley

Solving the solvent problem

With new recycling units, fleet is cleaning up...

"It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it" applies to PG&E's fleet operations department, specifically those who work in the company's 70 garages. Cleaning grimy engine parts and tools is a daily ritual for these employees, but a new piece of equipment is making the process a lot cleaner and more economical - and is reducing hazardous waste.

The unit is called SystemOne and it recycles used cleaning solvent so that employees always have pristine solvent to clean parts and tools.

"It's an answer to an age-old problem: how do we stop generating waste?" says Rod Hearne, environmental specialist. "From a purely economical standpoint, it's a lot cheaper, but it's also safer and we have a friendlier environmental situation. There are no negatives."

Hearne says the recycling units are a hit with the state's air quality management districts, which continue to enact more stringent emissions guidelines. Last year, the fleet generated 30,000 pounds of used solvent, which is about 1 percent of PG&E's total generated waste. Because the solvent is considered hazardous waste, it has to be properly managed, which cost some $100,000 in 1999. The new recycling units eliminate not only the waste stream and the hundreds of annual trips to dispose of it, but also the need for additional aerosol cleaners that ere used to clean the residue left on parts from the dirty solvent.

SystemOne, manufactured by Mansur Industries, is a remarkably simple technology. Each unit holds 15 gallons of solvent. Five gallons of the cleaner are available at any time, five gallons are in reserve and five gallons are being recycled. As the solvent it used, it drains into a distillation chamber, which when turned on heats the solvent to the vapor point. It then drains through a condenser that cools it back to its liquid state and readies it for reuse. The heating process removes the impurities.

For employees, it means clear solvent on demand. "It's a lot nicer because it keeps everything clean," says Don Jackura, an equipment mechanic in Davis. Before the recycling unit was available, employees would clean parts in barrels of solvent, and they would use the same solvent for a number of jobs. Jackura says now, by pushing a button on the unit at the end of workday, the machine does its work at night and 15 gallons of fresh solvent are available in the morning.

The units were piloted in Davis, Auburn, Hayward and Fresno beginning last August, which included a complete life-cycle cost analysis. The Davis facility is the company's largest garage, and has 10 of the units. Dave Sturgeon, fleet analyst, says the remainder of the units PG&E purchased will be in place by mid-year.

"This new product is clear and convincing proof that environmental stewardship is good for business," says Bob Harris, vice president of environmental affairs. "Using this product makes our business practices more environmentally friendly while at the same time achieving substantial savings that impact the bottom line. Perhaps the most encouraging aspect of this achievement is that it was championed by dedicated PG&E employees who fervently believe that environmental stewardship is essential to our business success".
